Saudi king is on an official tour to 5 Asia countries. His visit to Maldives is partly official, followed by a private holiday.  There is no clear information as to which resorts he booked but Maldives Finest insists it is Anantara Dhigu, Anantara Veli and Naladhu Maldives. King salman spent his 2014 holiday in these 3 resorts after booking the island exclusively for himself. Guest booking done prior were either cancelled or offered an alternative.

There were reports of sighting a Saudi cargo flight at Velana International Airport while Saudi security personnel are reported in Maldives for advance clearance.

Media reports say the Saudi delegation will arrive in 5 jets. Saudi Gazette said the king’s visit to Indonesia will be accompanied by 1500 officials. Chances of that many officials accompanying him on his way to Maldives are slim but not impossible.

The state visit of Saudi king Salman Bin Abdulaziz will be accompanied by several minister including his son the Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Salman who is also the Defence Minister.

On the first day of arrival it will be official work and Saudi delegation will depart on the same day, leaving the king and his closest people on holiday in the Maldives. King’s son Mohammad Salman would most probably join his father’s holiday.
